2024: What a Year?!?!
This past year, God aligned things and made His open doors quite evident.
For more than a decade, I have been helping small businesses and nonprofits regain their ownership to their online presence and kickstart their marketing efforts. My mom used to tag me in Facebook posts requesting a website consultant. I was just a name. There was no true reputation with a name. So, God and I sat down and created a business model.
The Name
It was actually pretty overwhelming to figure out what to name it. He gave me a Bible verse that rang through my heart and mind every time I sat to work on it:
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! - 2 Corinthians 5:17
That settled it: 2C5 (short and sweet derived from 2 Corinthians 5:17).
The Logo
So… I was initially playing with a logo that used green sprouts - to signify the “new life” or “new creation” aspect… I wasn’t really in love with any of them. I put them on hold and began researching how to write “new creation” in Hebrew. It was important to me to include the language that Jesus would have written and that is used by God’s chosen people…. In that search, a monarch butterfly was thrown in my face! Um… A monarch butterfly? Are you kidding me??!! My mom and I help protect monarchs (from egg and caterpillar until they reach mature butterfly stage) to release for the journey to Mexico. How was that not my first thought??!!
If you look closely at the monarch in my logo, you will see the Hebrew for New Creation in the butterfly’s body. That was it. The logo God was working on - through me.
The Kick
After getting all of this together, I thought, “That was fun, but I am not going to do anything else with this. It was just a dream that was fun to think about for a little while.”
Pretty much the next day, I was at the Monument Company, when Raymond asked me (without any prompt or discussion) if I would help him with his website.
OK, God. You made that pretty clear.
That night, I went home and made it all official.
It Was My Honor
I am not doing this full-time. My daytime work has me working on the following websites and media:
Over the years, leading up to the creation of 2C5, I have worked with (created, recreated, maintained websites, etc. for) the following:
PA Country Crafts - giving Lindsay complete control of her decade-old blog, where she could begin saving money and make all changes and edits that she wants
Campbell Crops - revived and recreated their website that is now being maintained by the next generation (How awesome is that?!)
Keystone State Railroad Association - total website rebuild and migration
Leadership Susquehanna Valley - putting the website in a format that staff and committee members can maintain it with ease, on a responsive page that saves them a lot of money each year.
New Life Church - brand new, website creation in a platform that they can continue to maintain and load content each week
Northern Dauphin Christian School - a total recreation and transfer of their website to a more affordable option that allows staff and volunteers to be able to keep up with the site (much like LSV)
This year, as the new, and official 2C5, it was my honor to add these to my portfolio:
Monument Company - website recreation (making the site more user-friendly for building customer relationships)
C. Shaffer Construction - brand new website build
Caz Russell, Leadership Coach - website salvage (removing broken links/pages and reworking the site to work for Caz)
TVP Colonnade Theater - total website rebuild (making it easier for staff to maintain and us movie-goers to find movie times) and email campaign recreation… again saving this nonprofit money
River's Edge Bible Ministries - brand new website build and email campaign
M. Shaffer Construction - brand new website build that allows Mal to accept applications right online
Tapestry of Joy - brand new website and blog (that will be sure to encourage everyone who visits it!)
THANK YOU!
Thank you to everyone entrusted your brand and identity to me this past year. It was my absolute honor to make your vision a reality.
This has been such a blessing!
You are all such blessings!!
As for 2025, I have a couple projects in the works. I will continue to make myself available for those who want to save money and take control of our website and identity; do not hesitate to contact me if that is you.
Cheers to a prosperous and blessed 2025!
